A study authored by Dr. Ayşe Karadaş from the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences; Dr. Mehmet Gülşen from the Department of Medical Services and Techniques, İvrindi Vocational School of Health Services; and Lecturer Nurşah Tatoğlu has revealed the relationship between person-organization fit and job embeddedness among nurses.
Conducted by BAUN academics Dr. Ayşe Karadaş, Dr. Mehmet Gülşen, and Lecturer Nurşah Tatoğlu, the study titled “The Relationship Between Person-Organization Fit and Job Embeddedness in Nursing: The Mediating Role of Workplace Happiness” was published in the Journal of Evaluation in Clinical Practice, a Q2-ranked international journal.
Providing insights into the research, the authors explained that the findings obtained from nurses working in a public hospital demonstrated that person-organization fit enhances nurses’ level of workplace happiness. They further emphasized that workplace happiness strengthens job embeddedness and plays a mediating role, indicating that person-organization fit indirectly influences job embeddedness.
The researchers underlined that the study highlights not only the importance of person-organization fit in nursing but also the critical role of workplace happiness. They stated that developing strategies to support employee happiness is of great significance for the sustainability of healthcare services within nursing management.
